Beetlejuice Chair

A contemporary twist.

Everything in this world is in constant motion. Styles of rustic furniture and artwork, and the artisan's who create the artwork, are no different.  Rob continues to evolve as a rustic artist and is working on many new ideas.  These pieces represent a desire to build furniture and artwork that is rustic in nature, but also new, sleek and bold.

Red Curly Willow Floor Lamp

This large twig and tramp art frame is part of a series of mixed-media furniture that Rob has started building.  He has been playing around with the traditional Tramp Art forms and thinks that they combine well with twig work.

Variations on a plate, #2

Rob was recently inspired to create a series of red and black twig designs while on vacation. His inspiratation was a combination of Asian red/black designs and Parisian window displays using red/black twigs and stones.  The pieces are made from a combination of  peeled and painted poplar twigs, leather, ceramic plates, roots and stones.

Some of these works were part of Rob's show at the Parkersburg Art Center.

Sometimes you just feel like building something odd......

Maple Floating Table

Rob has built a few peeled pieces of rustic furniture. Maple, willow and poplar are cut when the sap is up, then either air-dried or kiln dried in his shop.  The items are built with a combination of mortise-and-tenon joints and mechanical joints. Each piece is unique.
